Historical Information for D'Youville College Student Activities
D'Youville College is an independent Catholic college located in Buffalo, New York. D'Youville was founded by the Grey Nuns in 1908. Over the course of its history the students at D'Youville College have partaken in various activities, clubs and organizations. D'Youville College was an all-girls institution until 1971, when the college began enrolling male students.
Chronology
1908 -- D'Youville College is founded.
1912 -- The first class of students graduates.
1920 -- The first Junior Prom takes place.
1921 -- The first yearbook is published.
1920's -- The basketball team is founded.
1942 -- The introduction of a nursing major.
1964 -- First parents weekend.
1969 -- Anti-Vietnam War sit-in and protests.
1971 -- D'Youville College becomes coed.
1984 -- The last nursing class to be capped.
